Components of a Trade Plan, Trade Education, Q&A

This Thursday (26th May) at 12:30pm EST, we will held a live Q&A Session webinar.

The purpose of this session was partly to answer any questions people had about the Jigsaw tools and how to use them.

In addition, we took a walk through a couple of strategy/educational topics. We’ve had a number of people asking for help with their trading in the past few weeks and we are seeing a few common issues come up.

1 – Components of a trading strategy – Many people are trying to put together a trade plan but missing a number of key elements. Of course, nothing is absolutely mandatory but I think that people would do much better at least considering the following:

  • The nature of your edge
  • Expectancy (vs random expectency)
  • Logging
  • Market state
  • Volatility adjustments

2 – The Jigsaw educational content – there’s a lot of videos on the site now and we went through them explaining how they fit together. Most of the content is publicly available but there’s no ‘roadmap’ through it, so we gave that as well as discussed each section so that you are able to pick and choose what you need.

We then went through Q&A including an interesting question on market pauses.  The recording is below

As usual, select full screen, full HD for best results

NO REPRESENTATION IS BEING MADE THAT ANY ACCOUNT WILL OR IS LIKELY TO ACHIEVE PROFITS OR LOSSES SIMILAR TO THOSE SHOWN; IN FACT, THERE ARE FREQUENTLY SHARP DIFFERENCES BETWEEN HYPOTHETICAL PERFORMANCE RESULTS AND THE ACTUAL RESULTS SUBSEQUENTLY ACHIEVED BY ANY PARTICULAR TRADING PROGRAM. IN ADDITION, HYPOTHETICAL TRADING DOES NOT INVOLVE FINANCIAL RISK, AND NO HYPOTHETICAL TRADING RECORD CAN COMPLETELY ACCOUNT FOR THE IMPACT OF FINANCIAL RISK OF ACTUAL TRADING. FOR EXAMPLE, THE ABILITY TO WITHSTAND LOSSES OR TO ADHERE TO A PARTICULAR TRADING PROGRAM IN SPITE OF TRADING LOSSES ARE MATERIAL POINTS WHICH CAN ALSO ADVERSELY AFFECT ACTUAL TRADING RESULTS. THERE ARE NUMEROUS OTHER FACTORS RELATED TO THE MARKETS IN GENERAL OR TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ANY SPECIFIC TRADING PROGRAM WHICH CANNOT BE FULLY ACCOUNTED FOR IN THE PREPARATION OF HYPOTHETICAL PERFORMANCE RESULTS AND ALL WHICH CAN ADVERSELY AFFECT TRADING RESULTS.
